Wheel alignment, a fundamental aspect of regular car maintenance, entails the precise adjustment of wheel angles to align with the manufacturer's specifications. This process ensures that your suspension and steering systems operate at optimal angles, ultimately reducing tire wear. Alignment is a complex task and our skilled experts who excel in this field can guarantee precision and quality.
How long does a full alignment take?Wheel alignments typically take one hour for both two-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles. However, excessive wear and tear on suspension components like bushings, track rods, or the system itself can require replacements, extending the service time.
What happens if you wait too long for an alignment?Tire alignment is crucial for maintaining optimal tire performance and lifespan. Even slight misalignments, undetectable to the naked eye but measurable in tenths of degrees or hundredths of inches, can lead to premature and uneven wear. As time passes, this wear becomes more pronounced, impacting both safety and fuel efficiency. To avoid these issues, regular alignment checks every 6,000 miles are recommended.
What is checked during an alignment?Three crucial aspects are assessed during a tire alignment inspection: camber, toe, and caster. Camber refers to the angle formed by the vertical axis of the tire and a line perpendicular to the road surface, as viewed from the front. When the top of the tire tilts inwards, creating an "X" shape with the wheels, it's considered negative camber. This can increase wear on the tire's inner edge through increased friction.
Do I need an alignment after replacing tires? The answer is yes! A proper wheel alignment ensures precise angles between wheels and the road, maximizing tire life, enhancing handling, and distributing wear evenly across the tread. This translates to better fuel efficiency, safer driving, and a more enjoyable ride.

I went for a camber adjustment and alignment and tire pressure sensor repair. My car is known for having an extremely hard time at adjusting. They tried so hard that they broke my speed wheel sensor but also fixed my tpms. They felt so bad they made everything completely free and fixed everything. They also gave me a rental car in the mean time. They were extremely nice and amazing to work with. I would 100% recommend this shop no doubt in my mind. I will definitely be back with anything that needs to be done. Also they were extremely respectful and caring about the problem.Logan DeGhetto
Gears garage did outstanding work on my 2012 Jeep Liberty. Alignment was perfect and they handled some other concerns with efficiency and expertise. Do not hesitate to use their services!Chris W
5 stars is not enough for Kim and Mike! I had them put an aftermarket clutch in my Wrangler. After driving it for a week or so, I noticed that it would get stuck in first and reverse when it gets heated up (driving an hour or so). I took it back to Gears and they worked together with Centerforce to remedy the situation. Not only did they return it to me completely fixed, but they gave me a loaner to drive while they worked on it. It's clear by the way they run their business that customer service is extremely important to Kim and Mike. I will continue to take my Jeep to Gears for all of my service needs!
